How It Works

In it’s simplest form, the ADA Plugin holds your hand through evaluating your WordPress content to ensure it is ADA Compliant.

The ADA Plugin Makes It Easy

It makes evaluation much easier than trying to inspect each element manually, and it will give you confidence that you didn’t miss anything that you might miss if you were going through page by page.

It Scans EVERYTHING

The scan runs through all media files, all posts, pages, and custom post types, as long as they are public.

It also scans “objects” that need to be compliant. It does this in eight different parts: files, tables, image tags, iframes, videos, audio, objects, embeds, and forms.

Full Reporting

ADA Plugin will alert you to any compliance issues by highlighting the object’s title, caption, description, and filename, which can make it easier to locate for updating.

At the top of the screen, ADA Plugin displays what Section 508 requirements are relevant to the object. It may have some tips to help you determine the best way to achieve compliance in this area.

It Tracks Your Updates

ADA Plugin tracks compliance issues. After making your updates, you simply click the button to “Mark As Resolved.” This is remembered on later scans, unless the code changes.

It Guides You

Finally, the user is presented with a checklist for the “Section 508 Self-Assessment Questionnaire.” This lists all of the Section 508 requirements for websites, and guides you to ensure that you have taken the recommended steps to achieve compliance in all areas. This checklist links to the guidelines, which has easier to read explanations that are tailored to WordPress.

Scheduled Scans

Once you have completed the steps recommended by ADA Plugin, the website is considered compliant by the plugin. ADA Plugin’s scheduling system will create a new scan, at a scheduled time in the future. When that scheduled time comes, the plugin will once again get to work, scanning the site for non-compliance issues on anything that has changed since the last scan.

Scanning each element on a large website by hand is time-consuming and takes time away from other important tasks. There’s a better way! ADA Plugin makes managing compliance easy. Managing your website accessibility in an easy-to-use, easy-to-understand format is within reach.
